Thin-film Silicon Solar Modules
NovaSolar designs and manufactures its own proprietary & patented thin film PV solar modules. We have selected multi-junction amorphous silicon (a-Si) technology for our products.
Amorphous Silicon modules have the lowest cost of materials and will be the cost leader compared with other PV technologies. The science of thin film silicon is well developed and the materials are RoHs compliant(non toxic)
Advantages of a-Si Solar Panels
- 15% more energy production per year than poly-Silicon
- Especially good in hot, humid climates
- A-Si is not toxic and easily recycled
Unlike CdTe which uses the highly toxic material Cadmium and toxic Tellurium and CIGS which use toxic Gallium and Selenium
Long-term Reliability
- Thin-film solar panels have the best cost per watt
- But, they require careful work to avoid reliability issues
- We have focused intensely on reliability and have the most reliable thin-film silicon solar panel in the industry with close to zero yearly power loss.
